Autumn? Already...... surely not?

Okay so I guess the inevitable is happening... Autumn is fast approaching, hmm, not quite. We have had some good days during the Summer and we have had some downright awwwwful. However, no worries! I am thoroughly excited by the approaching autumn/winter collections in the shops! We have a new boutique opening nearby called NOA NOA (i'm sure they have branches elsewhere?)... search them on Facebook, their stuff looks fabulous!

I'll leave you with this inspiring modelling picture I found (have to say I hope I can get some confidence back and do some more photo shoots!) <3

Have an amazing weekend bloggers :) x

Ramblings of a Misfortunate Youth...

Whatsisname and me
Sitting in my willow tree
Elderly man, crippled as he runs down the lane
Tries to rescue his daughter, needs to catch the train
Missing the last one, decides to walk back
But on his way home gets mugged by a crack
Addict and killer named Charlie, thieves money for his fix
Goes to his dealer, but he’s got some new tricks
Up his sleeves, knows it’s been too long
So he swallows his pride, and goes to see his son.

Meanwhile whatsisname and me,
Still sat here in my willow tree
His name has changed four times since then
Matthew, Mark, Luke then Ken?

The news switches on in a family living room
Having beaten up his wife, he stands there, looms
Over her, he’s dangerous, like the Grim Reaper
She can’t get out, there’s no escape, he’s the ‘Housekeeper’
John will get his comeuppance one of these days
Rather sooner than later, his wife still there, just lays
With her eyes closed, body limp, making no sound
Panicking, he digs a hole, burying her in the ground.

A boy
Too petrified, will not ever dare go back home
He ran straight out that door, and now he’s all alone
Running down the street at full pelt he catches my eye
The look of pain across his face, as I begin to cry
Wonders if his Granddad will ever find him alive
Hopes to God, unlike his mum, that he will survive

Ken says goodbye, he’s had enough of me, the boy still stares
Wanting to be loved, wishing for someone who really cares
So for the first time in a week, I climbed down my tree
To sit with him in the guttering, he said his name was Lee.

Whatsisname and me
No longer sat in my willow tree
Now we fly so much higher, watching people on the Earth
Looking on those, whose lives like ours had no special worth
Holding hands, searching eyes, skimming the clouds with our toes
Only seeing people worse off than us, their burdens and their sorrows.

Fishing

As the net catches those who fall
I missed my turn and looked so small
you cuddle fast and i'm quick to learn
that years blink, there dies a fern

so precious so bleak and yet I smile
remembering those things for a while
sometimes i'll cry sometimes i'll laugh
but always heart and head will faff
and go between

the good
the bad
and the downright mean.

I heart Charity Shops!

I discovered this fantastic Agatha Christie novel 'Nemesis' in a charity shop recently for 50p! There is something quite beautiful about a smelly, fusty, old book! It will go very nicely with the already brimming collection!

Bits and Bobs... and a Cayenne pepper plant!!!!!

So it all started with a pepper plant. £1.49. I am really hoping this will turn red..... and I can eat it...... would be spectacular. It apparently can either be a house plant or outdoor one. I don't really trust the outside weather though !!!

I love the stand-alone picture I've made below! Not to be to up my own hoo-haa, but it was so simple. Blue card frame, with a blue card stand behind it (YES it stands up!!! :D) with wallpaper, a blue cut -out flower and a blue button!!!!!!!

What do people think of this last card? I think it looks like a plant, but some people I asked weren't too sure if they liked it? Comments welcome!

Cherished Part Deux...... can Sarah actually make cards?

Okay, so I have had a try at making some cards and would love people to stumble across these and give their own opinions and thoughts on what I have created so far!!!

Some of them are really easy to make! This one here to the left was simply a piece of wallpaper from B&Q inside a window-cut card!!!! :D
The ribbon is so cute! I managed to find a cute little homewares shop up hill where I'm living that sold silver ribbon with the words 'Bon Anniversaire' and 'Happy Birthday' alternating in between little hearts! It was literally 50p for a whole metre which lasted around 10 cards!
I think so far though my favourite little finds are the buttons from the local bead shop (you can fill a small bag as full as you can, as long as it shuts, and it's only £2!!!) Also I adore the polka dot shapes; butterflies, hearts, doves and flowers!!!!
